Kuwait Braces for Dust Storms and Strong Winds on Monday Afternoon

Kuwait City: The Kuwait Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for Monday, forecasting high temperatures with active to strong southwestern winds of more than 60 km/h. Acting Director of the Kuwait Meteorological Department, Dhrar Al-Ali, stated that the dust storm would be triggered by the passage of a cold front this afternoon, shifting winds to the northwest.

According to Kuwait News Agency, visibility is expected to drop to less than 1,000 meters and may reach zero in some areas by the evening. Sea waves may rise to over six feet, with dust expected to gradually settle overnight. Weather conditions are forecast to improve by Tuesday morning, with a noticeable drop in temperatures, lows reaching 20 degrees Celsius, and highs around 31 degrees Celsius.

The department advises the public, particularly those with asthma or allergies, to stay indoors and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. Vehicle drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution on highways due to sudden drops in visibility. Sea-goers are warned about the high wave activity. The public is encouraged to stay updated by checking the official website, mobile app, and social media accounts of the Meteorological Department for the latest weather developments.
