Kuwait Assistant FM Engages Lebanese Officials on Human Rights Cooperation

Beirut: Kuwait's Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs, Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, engaged in discussions with Lebanese Foreign Ministry officials to explore avenues for enhancing cooperation on women and human rights affairs. These meetings were held alongside Sheikha Jawaher's participation in the Women on the Front Lines conference in Beirut.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Sheikha Jawaher met with Ambassador Abdelsattar Issa, Secretary General of the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, to emphasize the importance of increased participation in international events focused on human rights, women's issues, peace, and security. Ambassador Issa expressed appreciation for Kuwait's commitment to supporting human rights and fostering stability, development, justice, and equality in the region.

The Kuwaiti Assistant Foreign Minister also engaged in discussions with Ambassador Salim Baddoura, director of international organizations at the Lebanese Foreign Ministry. The talks centered on the role of the national committee for implementing the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, titled "woman, peace, and security." They also explored ways to enhance women's participation in peace efforts and cooperation on human rights issues.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuous coordination to promote women's roles and human rights at regional and international levels. Accompanying Sheikha Jawaher during these meetings were Counsellor Abdulaziz Al-Dalah, Charge D'affaires of the State of Kuwait Embassy, and Zeinab Al-Mansouri, Diplomatic Attache at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
