New york: The State of Kuwait and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) held their first strategic dialogue in New York to strengthen their partnership. The meeting, co-chaired by Kuwait's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and UNICEF Executive Director Ms. Catherine Russell, aimed to address the strategic partnership and its role in serving children and humanity.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the dialogue examined Kuwait's historic support for UNICEF projects in areas critical to child development, such as education, health, nutrition, water, and sanitation. The discussions also explored enhancing cooperation in response to global challenges, conflicts, and disasters affecting children's well-being and safety.
On the meeting's sidelines, a grant agreement was signed between the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and UNICEF. This agreement aims to finance a response to the cholera outbreak in the Republic of Sudan, underscoring the commitment of both parties to address urgent child welfare issues.
