Riga: The first round of political consultations between Kuwait and Latvia was held in the capital Riga on Thursday. The dialogue marked a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement from the Kuwaiti Embassy in Germany outlined that both parties focused on enhancing bilateral relations across various levels, with particular emphasis on economic cooperation aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035. Areas such as logistics, technology, and food security were key topics of discussion, alongside regional and international issues and potential collaborations in international forums.
The Kuwaiti delegation was led by Sadiq Marafi, Assistant Foreign Minister for Europe Affairs, while the Latvian delegation was headed by Ivars Lasis, Latvia's Under-Secretary of State and Political Director. The meeting saw participation from Kuwaiti Ambassador to Germany Reem Al-Khaled and Latvia's Ambassador to the UAE and non-resident Ambassador of Latvia to Kuwait, Dana Goldfinca.
