Kuwait and ICAO Seal Cooperation Agreement to Enhance Aviation Industry

Kuwait City: Kuwait's aviation regulator and the UN's International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) signed a memorandum of cooperation to increase dialogue over developments in the aviation industry. The deal, co-signed by Kuwaiti Directorate General of Civil Aviation head Sheikh Humoud Mubarak Al-Sabah and ICAO President Salvatore Sciacchitano, aims to bolster Kuwait's rapport with global aviation bodies, leading to the development of national skills, said the Kuwaiti aviation chief. The agreement is expected to boost vital aviation projects, including the new Terminal 2 and the "Air Cargo City" project, enhancing security, safety standards, and efficiency in the local aviation industry.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Kuwaiti aviation chief hailed the deal as a significant step forward for growth in the national aviation industry. Kuwait, a UN aviation agency member since 1960, stands to gain from knowledge exchange with experienced bodies such as ICAO. The agreement is anticipated to broaden bilateral cooperation through special training courses and ICAO's support for strategic development projects in Kuwait.

The UN aviation agency's chief expressed enthusiasm over the agreement, expecting it to expand the scope of cooperation. As he toured facilities at Kuwait International Airport, the ICAO president noted that development projects are a key component of growth, praising the positive trajectory of Kuwait's aviation industry.
