Kuwait and Bangladesh Engage in First Round of Political Consultations


Kuwait city: Kuwait’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, Ambassador Sameeh Johar Hayat, has affirmed the significance of the first round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Kuwait and Bangladesh, highlighting the deep-rooted relations between the two nations.



According to Kuwait News Agency, Ambassador Hayat engaged in talks with Secretary of Bangladesh’s Ministry of Political Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, and senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka. The meeting, described as cordial, was part of the implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements.



The discussions covered numerous areas of cooperation, including political, military, security, economic, cultural, commercial, and investment relations. The talks also focused on coordination in international forums and skilled labor exchange. Additional topics included cooperation in higher education, scientific research, civil aviation, oil and renewable energy, industry, food security, and healthcare services.



Ambassador Hayat emphasized the shared aspiration to enhance bilateral coordination and discussed ways to strengthen ties between government sectors. The consultations were aligned with directives from Kuwait’s leadership to promote high-level visits and maintain the historic partnership between Kuwait and Bangladesh.



Further discussions were held on expanding manpower cooperation and finalizing pending Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in line with Kuwait Vision 2035. Both parties stressed the importance of boosting trade and investment, especially in energy and infrastructure sectors.



The meeting concluded with both countries reaffirming their commitment to multilateral cooperation and enhancing bilateral relations across various fields. Earlier, Ambassador Hayat delivered a handwritten letter from Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya to Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammad Hussain, focused on strengthening cooperation.



The Kuwaiti delegation also included Kuwait’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ali Hamada, First Secretary Ahmad Al-Duwaila, and senior officials.
