Kuwait Amir Representative Delivers Kuwait’s Speech at Extraordinary Arab Summit

Cairo: The representative of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, delivered Kuwait's speech during the Extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo on Tuesday. His Highness the Crown Prince emphasized the necessity for the summit to develop a unified Arab stance against any attempts to displace Palestinians, while outlining several strategic steps.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the speech included directives to amplify the Arab voice in rejecting any displacement attempts and to avoid blaming regional countries such as Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia for any ramifications of displacement calls. The plan calls for reconstructing Gaza and compensating the Palestinian people for damage, holding the Israeli occupation accountable for rebuilding destroyed infrastructure.

The Crown Prince also advocated for accountability of the Israeli occupation through international law, emphasizing adherence to international humanitarian law, and resolutions from the General Assembly, Security Council, Human Rights Council, International Criminal Court, and International Court of Justice. The speech urged a concrete pursuit of the two-state solution at the upcoming international conference in June.

Further, His Highness urged all UN member states that have not recognized Palestine to do so, supporting Palestine's full membership status in the UN. The call was made to unite Palestinian ranks and manage the Gaza Strip effectively, while also unifying Arab ranks to safeguard Arab national security.

Additionally, the Crown Prince highlighted the importance of bolstering financial and political support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), rejecting any efforts to diminish its role. His Highness reaffirmed Kuwait's stance on achieving a lasting, comprehensive, and just peace, aligned with international resolutions, to establish an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
