Kuwait Airways to Receive New Aircraft as Part of Strategic Overhaul

Kuwait city: Kuwait Airways is set to bolster its fleet with the addition of new aircraft, as part of its ongoing strategic overhaul. The KAC Chairperson, Abdulmohsen Al-Fagaan, announced on Monday that the national carrier would receive an Airbus-321 by the end of August and an A-330-900 aircraft by the end of the year.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Fagaan made the announcement following the KAC general assembly, where he emphasized the airline's commitment to elevating its status among top regional carriers. The board is focused on enhancing KAC operations to achieve improved outcomes, he stated, following a session attended by all board members.

Al-Fagaan highlighted the company's dedication to addressing feedback and inquiries from the Audit Bureau. He expressed a commitment to full cooperation in resolving financial irregularities, noting a reduction in such cases from 16 to seven. These remaining cases are under investigation, with the company actively pursuing all necessary legal actions.

He reiterated the airline's approach to achieving positive results by offering top-notch services and presenting innovative solutions to meet customer needs. Kuwait Airways had a noteworthy year in 2024, taking delivery of the "Boubyan plane" (an A-330-900) and earning recognition for the quality of its onboard meals. The airline ranked third in punctuality in the Middle East and Africa with a 91.13 percent on-time performance and was placed 20th among the top 109 aviation companies globally.

In 2024, the airline also signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia Railways, enhanced its joint code agreement with Saudi Airlines, strengthened its partnership with Amadeus, and entered into a cooperation agreement with German aviation company Flexflight. Additionally, Kuwait Airways signed a cooperation protocol with the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training and participated in the 26th Gulf football championship as the official carrier.
