Kuwait city: Kuwait's national handball team secured a place in the semifinals of the 22nd Asian Men's Handball Championship by defeating South Korea 31-27 in the final game of the group stage. This victory propels Kuwait into the next round of the championship, which serves as a qualifier for the 30th IHF Men's Handball World Championship scheduled to take place in Germany from January 13-31, 2027.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait's team delivered a strong performance, overcoming a 14-15 deficit in the first half to claim victory in the second half, much to the delight of their fans. The match took place at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah Covered Halls Complex in Sabah Al-Salem.
Kuwait will face off against Qatar in the semifinals on Tuesday, while Japan is set to compete against Bahrain. The championship, hosted by Kuwait, is set to conclude on January 29.
