Kuwait city: Chairman of the Kuwait Science Club (KSClub) and the Higher Committee of the International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME)'s Chairman Talal Al-Kharafi met with a delegation from the Russian Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) to discuss enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise in intellectual property (IP).
According to Kuwait News Agency, the KSClub stated that the meeting occurred on the sidelines of the third day of the 16th IIFME, which is currently under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Al-Kharafi emphasized the Russian involvement in this year's event, mentioning the visit by Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi to the Russian pavilion and his commendation of the innovations presented.
He stated that the Club is prepared to act as a link to facilitate cooperation between participating entities and relevant bodies in Kuwait, supporting the scientific ecosystem.
The Russian delegation presented Rospatent's role in the digital transformation of IP systems and its function as an International Searching and Preliminary Examining Authority under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
The delegation also discussed the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), highlighting its patent analytics capabilities and cooperation with international partners in technical examination and research.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation invited KSClub to participate in the 8th International Rospatent Conference "ERA IP," set to occur in Moscow on April 21, focusing on digital transformation and developing IP ecosystems.
