Moscow: The Russian Presidency announced President Vladimir Putin held "useful, constructive, and substantive" talks with US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and businessman Jared Kushner. The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, was described as addressing substantive issues in depth.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the talks focused on the core of the US plan for peace in Ukraine, rather than its specific wording or details. The Russian side at the meeting included Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov and Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, who serves as the President's Special Representative for Investment and Economic Cooperation with Foreign Countries.
The Kremlin stated that Moscow had received four additional US documents, besides the main plan, which are currently under discussion. Ushakov told reporters that the discussions centered on these US documents. Both sides agreed to continue contacts to follow up on the points raised in the American plan.
President Putin indicated during the meeting that Moscow could agree to some points of the US plan, although some others remain unacceptable, Ushakov reported. He emphasized that "much work remains to be done by both sides."
