Kuwait city: Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) on Thursday announced the selection of Dr. Faizah Al-Enezi, a researcher at the Environment and Life Sciences Research Center, as an Ambassador for the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program in the UK. KISR revealed that this nomination acknowledges Dr. Al-Enezi's efforts to integrate scientific research with education and the broader community, along with her dedication to inspiring future scientists and promoting innovation based on evidence for sustainable solutions.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the STEM program is a prominent initiative aimed at bolstering education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. It encourages innovation by collaborating with researchers and academics to ensure research outputs meet societal needs. Dr. Al-Enezi, who earned a PhD in environmental microbiology from the University of Aberdeen in the UK, has an impressive record in natural product extraction from microorganisms and plants, biological disease control, and environmental rehabilitation.
KISR highlighted Dr. Al-Enezi's contributions to knowledge production and scientific innovation, as well as her collaboration with leading international institutions. Her work with universities such as Aberdeen, Geneva, Neuchatel, and Cornell has enhanced the reputation of national research cadres on the global stage.
