Kuwait city: Director General of Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) Dr. Faisal Al-Humaidan affirmed that the summer courses organized by the institute transition students from lecture halls to laboratories and research fields to engage in scientific projects under the supervision of researchers, thereby enhancing research values and teamwork.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this statement was made during the conclusion of KISR's 46th summer program for high-school and university students, an event attended by the Director General, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education Dr. Bader Al-Busairi, and Executive Directors Abdulmohsen Al-Haroun. Al-Humaidan noted that this year's program introduced new tracks in architectural design and robotics fundamentals, alongside existing programs in fields such as microbiology, genetic engineering, chemistry, and artificial intelligence. The program's regional dimension was highlighted by the inclusion of university students from inside and outside Kuwait.
The program received backing from national institutions, with new supporters like Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity and Kuwait Technical College joining established partners such as Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and the Ministry of Education. Special sponsorship for the "Adel's Imprint" activity came from Warba Bank and other organizations, with the Ministry of Health providing medical support throughout the program.
Dr. Al-Humaidan praised the students' dedication, emphasizing that the skills and knowledge gained are foundational for their academic journeys. Program Director Shaima Al-Qallaf highlighted the program's focus on sustainability and inclusivity, with activities like "Adel's Eternal Imprint" promoting integration of participants with disabilities. Al-Qallaf also noted the implementation of a biometric attendance system to instill discipline and responsibility among students.
