Japan and UAE Commit to Strengthening Strategic Partnership

Tokyo: Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy to Japan Sultan Al-Jaber have vowed to further deepen bilateral cooperation under the strategic partnership, as announced by Japan's Foreign Ministry.

According to Kuwait News Agency, during a meeting in Tokyo, Motegi and Al-Jaber agreed to continue utilizing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework to enhance cooperation across a wide range of areas. This framework aims to solidify future bilateral ties, including the ongoing negotiations of the Japan-UAE Economic Partnership Agreement, as stated in a press release from the ministry.

Motegi acknowledged the expansion of Japan-UAE cooperation beyond energy under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework. In response, Al-Jaber expressed his anticipation for further strengthening the relations between the two nations, according to the ministry.

Additionally, Motegi expressed gratitude for the UAE's consistent supply of crude oil to Japan and Abu Dhabi's openness to Japanese companies' participation in upstream crude oil development projects.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional developments and collaboration in international forums.
