Israeli Occupation Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon Cause Injuries

Beirut: The Israeli occupation carried out airstrikes on several areas and towns in southern Lebanon, resulting in the destruction and injuring two civilians.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the National News Agency (NNA) reported that health authorities confirmed the injuries occurred in Kfarkela town due to the attacks. The situation has raised significant concerns among international observers.

In response to the escalating tensions, the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) expressed deep concern over the potential for further violence. The force reported that four projectiles were launched from Lebanon into Israel near Metula at around 7:30 am, prompting immediate retaliation by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). UNIFIL emphasized the importance of avoiding actions that could jeopardize recent progress, particularly given the risk to civilian lives and the fragile stability in the region.

UNIFIL urged all parties involved to adhere to their commitments and highlighted the presence of peacekeepers in all positions as a stabilizing force. The recent ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation, signed on November 27, 2024, aimed to halt military escalations that led to a wide-scale operation last September, resulting in significant casualties and infrastructure damage.
