BEIRUT: Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has accused Israel of violating a ceasefire agreement following an air strike on the southern town of Al-Khiam. The incident occurred less than 24 hours after the Lebanese Army deployed in the area as part of the truce implementation, which was brokered by the United States and France. According to Kuwait News Agency, Mikati condemned the air strike and called on the international observation commission to take immediate action to prevent further violations by Israel. The commission, which includes officers from the United States, France, Lebanon, and Israel, is responsible for overseeing the ceasefire, which took effect in late November. Mikati's statement emphasized the importance of adhering to the commitments made under the ceasefire agreement and urged the commission to enforce the terms to avoid further escalation in the region.
