Iraq Launches Vision 2050 for Economic Development

Baghdad: Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Sudani launched the country's Vision 2050 on Saturday, aiming to develop the economy and avoid domestic crises in collaboration with the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI). Speaking at a ceremony, Al-Sudani outlined the vision's focus on establishing a viable, productive, developmental, sustainable, and sovereign society, alongside a smart government with a balanced regional and international stance.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the collaboration with MGI involves proposing programs and solutions to diversify Iraq's economy, restructuring it to reduce dependency on oil, and boosting private sector contributions. The Prime Minister emphasized that his government is striving to transition from oil revenue reliance to a diversified and resilient economic structure.

The vision intends to address all sectors, bridging gaps in state institutions and preventing potential crises. The comprehensive plan reflects Iraq's commitment to economic transformation and sustainability.
