Kuwait city: Inspections are currently taking place at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and the Tehran Research Reactor (TRR), as announced by Iranian officials on Monday.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei described these inspections as routine and necessary. He emphasized the importance of the Tehran reactor, highlighting its role in producing medical isotopes.
In addressing the potential for US-Iran discussions, Baghaei noted that mediators are actively exchanging messages to bridge existing differences. However, he clarified that this exchange does not indicate the commencement of formal negotiations.
Baghaei also refuted claims of receiving messages from the US through Oman during the recent visit of Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi.
Iran has conducted five rounds of indirect, Oman-mediated communications with the US concerning its nuclear program, prior to Israeli occupation strikes in mid-June. These developments were followed by US airstrikes on facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan after repeated Israeli attacks. Israeli raids on Tehran and other cities were met with responsive Iranian missile strikes on the occupied territories.
