Indonesian President Arrives in Pakistan for Diplomatic Visit

Islamabad: President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by a high-level delegation, arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a two-day official visit. President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the visiting president upon his arrival.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the visit carries added significance as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Indonesia. During his stay, President Prabowo will engage in delegation-level talks with the Prime Minister and meet President Asif Ali Zardari as well as the military leadership.

The Pakistan Foreign Office stated that discussions will cover a wide-ranging agenda aimed at further strengthening Pakistan-Indonesia relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation. The focus will include trade, investment, defense, health, IT, climate, education, and culture, alongside enhancing collaboration at regional and global levels.

Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed during the visit. The visit of President Prabowo provides an important opportunity to deepen bilateral ties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, contributing to the continued growth and diversification of the partnership between the two countries, the Foreign Office added.
