London: Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will embark tomorrow, Tuesday, on an official visit to the UK and Ireland to strengthen ties, a statement from the Ministry said. Jaishankar’s visit, scheduled from March 4 to March 9, aims to provide renewed impetus to India’s relationships with both the UK and Ireland.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the visit underscores the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UK, which has been fortified across areas such as defence, security, trade, economy, health, education, and people-to-people connections. During his UK visit, Jaishankar is expected to hold discussions with his counterpart, Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and engage with several other dignitaries, as well as members of the Indian community.
In Ireland, Jaishankar is set to meet with his counterpart, Simon Harris, along with other dignitaries and members of the Indian community. The statement highlighted that India and Ireland maintain friendly bilateral relations grounded in shared democratic values, cultural ties, and expanding economic engagements.
