New Delhi: Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met with US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan in New Delhi on Monday, focusing on defence, security, civil nuclear cooperation, and clean energy supply chains among other topics.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a joint press release following the talks highlighted extensive discussions on bilateral, regional, and global agendas, continuing the tradition of regular high-level dialogue between the two nations. The joint statement emphasized the significant progress made since the launch of the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joseph Biden at the Quad Summit in Tokyo in May 2022. This initiative has fostered collaboration in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Semiconductors, Telecommunications, Defence, and Space.
The dialogue also reviewed ongoing advancements in defence, cyber, and maritime security cooperation. Sullivan provided updates on changes made by the Biden administration to US missile export control policies under the Missile Technology Control Regime, which are expected to enhance US commercial space cooperation with India.
Sullivan also announced US efforts to complete necessary steps to delist Indian nuclear entities, a move aimed at promoting civil nuclear cooperation and fortifying resilient clean energy supply chains. Prime Minister Modi expressed his enthusiasm on his official X account, stating that the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership has reached new heights, particularly in technology, defence, space, biotechnology, and Artificial Intelligence, and expressed optimism for further strengthening of ties for the benefit of both nations and global welfare.
