New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed trade, energy, defence, and strategic technologies with US Vice President J.D. Vance during a meeting in New Delhi. Vance arrived earlier on Monday, accompanied by the Second Lady Usha Vance and senior members of the US administration. According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs highlighted that Modi and Vance reviewed bilateral cooperation between the two countries, positively assessing progress in various areas. Modi reminisced about his visit to Washington in February, where discussions with President Donald Trump laid the groundwork for a roadmap aimed at fostering closer ties between India and the US. The statement noted that both leaders welcomed the significant progress in negotiations for a mutually beneficial India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement, which focuses on the welfare of both countries' populations. They also acknowledged ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation in fields such as energy, defenc e, and strategic technologies. Modi emphasized that the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership will be a defining relationship of the 21st century, contributing to a better future for both nations and the world.
