India and France Strengthen Strategic Partnership Through Dialogue

New delhi: India and France on Tuesday engaged in discussions to deepen cooperation in several areas during the 38th India-France Strategic Dialogue held in New Delhi. The dialogue underscored the commitment of both nations to their strategic partnership.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Indian External Affairs Ministry issued a statement highlighting that the dialogue covered ongoing bilateral initiatives in the fields of security, defense, technology, space, and civil nuclear cooperation. The discussions aimed to explore opportunities for joint development and collaboration under India's 'Make in India' and self-reliant India initiatives.

The dialogue also addressed the evolving geopolitical situation and regional and international issues of mutual concern. Preparations for the upcoming visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to India were reviewed. Both nations emphasized the importance of closer cooperation to tackle global security challenges, with the goal of promoting peace and stability.

The Strategic Dialogue was co-chaired by Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and Diplomatic Adviser to the President of France Emmanuel Bonne. During his visit, Bonne also met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
