India and Australia Explore Enhanced Defence Cooperation

New delhi: India and Australia engaged in discussions to deepen their bilateral defence cooperation and enhance strategic engagement, focusing on a stable Indo-Pacific region.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussions took place during the four-day official visit of Chief of the Australian Army, Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, to New Delhi. During his visit, General Stuart met with top Indian defence officials, including General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of the Indian Army Staff, General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of Air Staff, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar.

The Indian Defence Ministry released a statement highlighting that the Chief of the Australian Army was briefed on India's security perspective and recent advancements in technology absorption within the Indian Army. The visit signifies the strong and growing defence partnership between India and Australia, emphasizing their shared commitment to a stable, secure, and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.

General Simon Stuart began his visit with a wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial, paying homage to the fallen heroes of the Indian Armed Forces.
