Kuwait city: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare announced on Tuesday the signing of two contracts worth KD 36.5 million for the supply, installation, and maintenance of underground 400-kilovolt cables to feed four main substations in South Sabah Al-Ahmad City. Acting Director General Rashid Al-Enezi stated that these contracts are part of the state's broader plan to secure electrical infrastructure for new residential cities and ensure the sustainability of essential services.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the two contracts will cover cable works for the four substations with a completion period of 26 months. While the construction of power substations is ongoing, the first phase is expected to be completed by July 2026. Infrastructure developments in the city are showing significant progress, with the main roads project achieving a 75.79 percent completion rate last December. Additionally, residential infrastructure contracts are advancing on schedule or ahead of it.
Rashid Al-Enezi affirmed that these projects are a crucial phase in establishing integrated electrical and service infrastructure. They are essential to ensure the city's readiness to accommodate residents and provide sustainable services, aligning with national urban development plans.
