Kuwait City: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has signed a decree appointing Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem as the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the new appointment comes amidst various developments in the nation, including a significant operation by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior. In collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, they announced the successful busting of a ring involved in manipulating draw results.
In another development within the region, Kuwait's Ministry of Oil engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Iraqi Oil Ministry to explore ways to enhance cooperation in the oil and gas sectors.
Meanwhile, in Ramallah, at least 61 Palestinians have been killed, and more than 134 others injured, due to Israeli occupation airstrikes on different areas in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has once again urged the international community to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation to halt its military actions in the Gaza Strip.
In Beirut, the Ministry of Health reported that at least one person was killed in an Israeli airstrike on southern Lebanon. In Riyadh, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' decision to establish an agency to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, Egypt has firmly rejected any allegations of accepting plans to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip in exchange for economic aid, reiterating its opposition to such actions. In New York, the UN Secretary-General announced a "difficult decision" to reduce aid operations in the Gaza Strip following resumed Israeli airstrikes, while assuring that "the UN is not leaving" the area.
In the United States, the Department of Homeland Security announced the revocation of legal status for over 500,000 Latin American and Haitian migrants, giving them a week to leave the country.
