Manama: A gathering of Gulf Arab oil refiners in the Bahraini capital represents a strategic point to enhance the industry's downstream operations, according to the chief executive of state-owned Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8).
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Gulf Downstream Association Conference, sponsored by the Bahrain-based GDA association, provides a platform for oil industry leaders and professionals from the Gulf Arab region to build strategic partnerships that address the needs of the global oil market, as stated by Shafi Al-Ajmi. The conference allows Kuwait to strengthen its regional and international presence, supporting national plans aimed at sustained economic development. The event hosts international oil industry experts and more than 70 global firms.
The official highlighted recent achievements by Q8, including the award-winning initiative "Kuwait Sailing for Change." This project, categorized under sustainability, focuses on increasing social awareness about environmental conservation efforts.
Established in 1983, Q8 serves as the refining and marketing wing of the state-owned Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, mainly handling the marketing and refining of oil-based products.
