Berlin: The German government on Friday demanded that the Israeli occupation government halt the E1 settlement project in the occupied West Bank. The Federal Foreign Office expressed concerns that this project risks fueling unrest in the West Bank and the entire region.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the German Foreign Office cautioned that the Israeli project threatens to undermine peace efforts aimed at achieving a two-state solution. The statement emphasized that the project could deprive Palestinians of freedom of movement in the West Bank, further complicating efforts towards a peaceful resolution.
The German government reiterated its position that the two-state solution remains the only lasting resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They stressed the importance of halting the E1 settlement project to prevent further escalation and to maintain the possibility of a negotiated peace.
