Kuwait city: GCC Secretary General Jasem Al-Budaiwi met with UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Hamish Falconer in London on Monday. The discussions focused on reviewing relations between the GCC and the UK within the strategic partnership framework, exploring ways to further develop and enhance these relations to serve mutual interests.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting also covered the latest developments in the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between the GCC and the UK. A new joint action plan was discussed, alongside recent regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Additionally, Al-Budaiwi met with UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade Peter Kyle and Minister of State for Trade Affairs Chris Bryant to discuss the ongoing GCC-UK FTA negotiations. He emphasized the need for intensified joint efforts from both sides to align viewpoints on remaining matters in the negotiation process.
Al-Budaiwi highlighted that the free trade agreement would significantly boost trade and economic relations between the GCC and the UK, opening new avenues for cooperation across various sectors.
