Kuwait city: The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): States expressed on Thursday, before the meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors, their strong condemnation and denunciation of the aggression launched by the Israeli occupation on Qatar that targeted civil and residential units, in a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.
According to Kuwait News Agency, this was announced in a speech delivered by Advisor at Kuwait Embassy to Austria Bashar Al-Duwaisan on behalf of the GCC members during the governors' meeting. Al-Duwaisan affirmed that targeting Qatar is a "direct attack" on the joint Gulf security and the shared fate of GCC States, renewing GCC full solidarity with, and support to, Doha in the face of any assault.
GCC States completely back any measures taken by Qatar to protect its sovereignty and security and prevent the repetition of such hostile acts, he noted. Al-Duwaisan called on the international community and its concerned institutions to take proper acts against this threat to international and regional peace and security.
The Israeli occupation launched an airstrike on Qatar on Tuesday that targeted residential headquarters of some leaders of the Palestinian Hamas political bureau as a "hostile act" that was widely deplored on Arab and regional levels in solidarity with Qatar.
