Abu dhabi: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Jasem Al-Budaiwi on Saturday welcomed the UAE's hosting of talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the US in Abu Dhabi. In a press statement, Al-Budaiwi emphasized the UAE's role in reaching a peaceful solution to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and negotiations.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Budaiwi reiterated that the GCC's stance is grounded in international law, the UN Charter, and the protection of the international order based on respect for states' sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence. He stressed the importance of non-interference in internal affairs and the non-use of force or threats.
The GCC chief expressed hope that these talks would aid in achieving the desired goals, contributing to the security and stability of both sides involved in the conflict.
