Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, strongly condemned the Israeli occupation's decision to convert areas of the occupied West Bank into "state property" under the control of the occupying power.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Budaiwi affirmed that this decision represents a violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions. He stated that it expands illegal settlement policies and requires a firm international response.
Al-Budaiwi emphasized that these practices infringe on the rights of the Palestinian people and are an attempt to seize their lands. He described it as a defiance of the international community's will and United Nations resolutions, which affirm the illegality of settlements and the necessity of ending the occupation.
He urged the international community to take immediate steps to halt these violations and compel the Israeli occupation forces to abandon their settlement policies and unilateral decisions that threaten regional security and stability.
Al-Budaiwi reiterated the GCC's support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions.
