Kuwait City: The Gulf Cooperation Council and the Muslim World League welcomed the European Union's decision to lift economic sanctions on the Syrian Arab Republic.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Al-Budaiwi expressed hope that the EU's decision would help alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people. Al-Budaiwi also emphasized the potential for this decision to pave the way for a new era of recovery and reconstruction in Syria, which has been ravaged by conflict.
In addition, Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the World Muslim League, praised the EU's decision as a significant step in supporting Syria's progress toward a new future. He acknowledged the international efforts that contributed to this development, highlighting the persistent efforts and initiatives led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
