GCC and Argentina Discuss Strengthening Cooperation

Kuwait City: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jassem Al-Budaiwi held talks with Argentina's Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein to discuss the enhancement of bilateral relations.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement from the GCC Secretariat revealed that the meeting focused on strengthening ties through the potential signing of a consultation mechanism Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and establishing a joint-action plan across various fields.

The discussions also included relations between GCC member states and the Mercosur group, which is currently chaired by Argentina. Both parties considered the possibility of resuming negotiations on a free trade agreement to further economic cooperation.

Additionally, the two sides shared perspectives on the latest developments in regional and international arenas, particularly the situations in Gaza and Syria. They emphasized the importance of supporting efforts aimed at achieving regional stability and security.
