According to Kuwait News Agency, the G7, under Italy's current chairmanship, released a statement expressing "full support for an inclusive Syrian-led and Syrian-owned political transition process in the spirit of the principles of UN Security Council Resolution 2254." The statement emphasized readiness to support a transition that results in governance that is credible, inclusive, and non-sectarian. The G7 urged respect for the rule of law and universal human rights, highlighting the protection of all Syrians, including religious and ethnic minorities, and advocating for transparency and accountability. The G7 statement further pledged to work with and fully support a future Syrian government that meets th ese standards and emerges from the outlined process.
