France and US Broker Ceasefire Agreement in Lebanon.


Paris: French President Emmanuel Macron and his US counterpart Joseph R. Biden have jointly announced an agreement on a cessation of hostilities between the Israeli occupation forces and the Lebanese Hezbollah group. “After many weeks of tireless diplomacy, — Israel and Lebanon have accepted a cessation of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon,” stated a joint declaration issued by both leaders.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the announcement aims to halt the ongoing fighting in Lebanon and secure Israel from the threats posed by Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations operating from Lebanon. The leaders emphasized that this development will create conditions conducive to restoring lasting calm and enable residents in both countries to return safely to their homes along the Blue Line.

Furthermore, the United States and France have pledged to collaborate with Israel and Lebanon to ensure the effective implementation and enforcement of this arrangement. The two nations remain resolute in their determi
nation to prevent the conflict from escalating into another cycle of violence. They have also committed to leading and supporting international efforts to enhance the capacity of the Lebanese Armed Forces and promote economic development throughout Lebanon, with the aim of advancing stability and prosperity in the region.
