Four Palestinians Dead in Israeli Prisons, Human Rights Groups Call for Accountability

RAMALLAH: Four Palestinians from the Gaza Strip have died in Israeli occupation prisons, according to the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society. The announcement follows the recent death of prisoner Ashraf Abu Wardah.

According to Kuwait News Agency, a joint statement from the commission and the society confirmed the deaths of four prisoners: 14-year-old Mohammad Akka, 52-year-old Samir Al-Kahlout, 58-year-old Zuhair Al-Sharif, and 57-year-old Mohammad Labad. The organizations emphasized that these deaths highlight ongoing concerns regarding the treatment of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli custody.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, alongside the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society, condemned the deaths, describing them as part of a broader pattern of mistreatment and violence against Palestinian detainees. They asserted that these incidents reflect a “genocidal war” against Palestinian prisoners.

Both organizations, along with other concerned authorities, have held the Israeli occupation responsible for the deaths. They have reiterated their calls for international human rights organizations to intervene and hold Israeli leaders accountable for what they describe as ongoing war crimes against the Palestinian people.
