Foreign Minister Discusses With His Iranian Counterpart The Bilateral Relations Between The Two Countries

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, discussed with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Amir Hussein Abdullahian, strengthening aspects of bilateral relations, and the importance of upgrading the horizons of cooperation in all fields to meets the aspirations of the two friendly countries.

A statement from the ministry stated that this came during a phone call they had on Sunday evening. The minister touched on the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and his accompanying delegation to Tehran. He thanked the Iranian Foreign Minister for his call and congratulations on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr, praying to God to protect the two neighboring peoples and to bless them with security and prosperity.

The two sides exchanged visions and ideas on regional and international issues of common concern. They also discussed developments in the situation in the region, the challenges it faces, and the need to support peace and stability through the concerted efforts.

For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister touched on the recent developments between his country and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially after reaching an agreement to normalize relations between them, expressing his thanks to Minister Fuad Hussein once again for the positive role played by the Iraqi government in helping the two sides reach understandings and then the agreement that was reached, then to the agreement that was signed in China.
