FM Al-Yahya Heads Kuwaiti Delegation at Cairo Conference on Gaza.

Cairo: Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Al-Yahya is leading his country's delegation to the international conference to support Gaza, currently held in Cairo on Monday, under the patronage of Egypt's President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi. According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Yahya delivered a speech at the conference titled "A Year of Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza," emphasizing Kuwait's unwavering support for the "brothers" in Palestine since the onset of Israeli aggression in October 2023. He highlighted Kuwait's prompt response to the crisis, in collaboration with other nations, through various initiatives. Al-Yahya elaborated on Kuwait's establishment of air, land, and maritime bridges aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. He criticized the occupying force, Israel, for obstructing United Nations efforts to deliver essential humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinians, who are facing starvation, malnutrition, and diseases. He further expressed Kuwait's consistent warnings about the effects of double standards on the credibility of the international system. Al-Yahya condemned Israeli occupation practices, stating that they defy international charters and norms, and criticized the use of self-defense rhetoric to justify actions in Gaza, which he described as genocidal. The Foreign Minister underscored the need for the international community to denounce Israel's ban on the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which is crucial for millions of Palestinian refugees.
