Finance Minister and World Bank Director Explore Enhanced Cooperation

Kuwait city: Acting Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem recently engaged in discussions with Safaa El-Tayeb El-Kogali, World Bank Division Director for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (MENAAP), focusing on strengthening cooperative efforts.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the meeting aimed at sustaining a strategic partnership and augmenting the Bank's support for Kuwait's economic reforms. Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem, who also serves as the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, and El-Kogali, a Sudanese national, examined various avenues to bolster economic ties.

The discussions were held in the context of the recent appointment of the new director of the World Bank office in Kuwait. The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including the Acting Resident Representative of the World Bank's local office in Kuwait, Huda Youssef, Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Services Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Saad Al-Alati, and Director of the International Economic Cooperation Department, Saad Al-Rashidi.
