FBI Thwarts Possible “Terror” Attack on New Year’s Eve in North Carolina

Charlotte: The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced on Thursday that it successfully foiled a potential "terror" attack planned for New Year's Eve in North Carolina. The attack, reportedly inspired by ISIS, was intercepted before it could be executed.

According to Kuwait News Agency, FBI Director Kash Patel revealed in a post on X that the suspect was directly inspired to act by ISIS. The bureau, along with its partners, managed to prevent the attack orchestrated by an individual who claimed motivation from the terrorist group.

The FBI office in Charlotte, one of North Carolina's major cities, confirmed that the suspect's plan was directly influenced by ISIS. The swift action by the authorities ensured the safety of the public during the holiday celebrations.
