New delhi: President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen arrived in New Delhi on Saturday to participate in India's 77th Republic Day celebrations. She was greeted by Indian Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada. Minister Prasada stated that India and the EU, as the world's two largest democracies, share a partnership rooted in mutual trust and shared values. He highlighted that von der Leyen's visit signifies a new phase in the India-EU Strategic partnership.
According to Kuwait News Agency, President of the European Council Antonio Luis Santos da Costa is scheduled to arrive tomorrow to join the President of the European Commission for the Republic Day celebrations on Monday. Both leaders are set to co-chair the 16th India-EU Summit on January 27th, emphasizing the commitment to furthering collaboration between India and the European Union.
