Brussels: The European Union (EU) has called on Iran to restore full cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This appeal comes in the wake of Tehran's announcement of its plans to construct a new uranium enrichment facility, a move perceived as a reaction to a recent resolution accusing Iran of "non-compliance" with its nuclear commitments.
According to Kuwait News Agency, EU foreign affairs spokesperson Anouar Al-Anouni addressed reporters, stating, "We call on Iran to restore full cooperation with the agency and fully implement all its obligations." Al-Anouni further emphasized, "We urge Iran to show restraint and avoid any steps that would further escalate the situation." These comments precede the upcoming round of nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran, which are set to take place in the Sultanate of Oman this Sunday.
