EU Commends Advancement in Gaza Peace Initiative

Brussels: The European Union on Thursday expressed its approval of the initiation of Phase Two of the United States' 20-point plan aimed at resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip. This plan has received backing from the United Nations Security Council through Resolution No. 2803.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the European Commission emphasized the significance of this development, highlighting the appointment of a Palestinian National Committee to oversee the administration of the Gaza Strip with assistance from the Palestinian National Authority. This move is seen as a crucial step towards achieving stability and effective governance in the region.

The statement from the European Union confirmed its readiness to continue supporting peace efforts in Gaza. Support will include humanitarian aid, security measures, diplomatic engagement, and other collaborative tools available to the Union.

Additionally, the EU expressed its eagerness for the comprehensive execution of the peace plan, which includes the widespread delivery of humanitarian aid and the initiation of reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip.
