Jazan: The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) is conducting scientific research on mango varieties within its research fields in Jazan Region, as part of its efforts to enhance plant diversity and support the economic value of crops.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the research includes more than 60 mango varieties studied using approved scientific methodologies to monitor vegetative growth, flowering stages, and fruit set, as well as to measure productive performance under local environmental conditions. Among these are the Royal Special and Nam Dok Mai varieties, which are distinguished by their ability to produce in both winter and summer seasons, contributing to the continuity of product availability and supporting the efficiency of agricultural supply chains.
This research is part of the center's efforts to highlight the economic value of agricultural varieties and expand investment opportunities in crops with strong production feasibility, thereby contributing to the development of the agricultural sector and improving its efficiency.
The center stressed that these efforts fall within its ongoing endeavors to develop agricultural practices, improve the efficiency of resource utilization, and enhance the sustainability of agricultural production across various regions of the Kingdom.
