Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkiye is bringing the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) activists, who were detained by the Israeli occupation, back to the country. Speaking at a project inauguration in Istanbul, Erdogan emphasized Turkiye's ongoing diplomatic efforts to ensure peace, tranquility, and security for Palestinians in Gaza.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Erdogan stated that Turkiye is working intensively to halt what he described as genocide in Gaza, utilizing all available resources from humanitarian aid to diplomatic channels. He highlighted Turkiye's efforts to bring global attention to the suffering of Gazan children by showcasing their images at the United Nations. Erdogan also mentioned discussing the situation with former U.S. President Donald Trump, noting that the Gaza issue was a central topic in their conversations.
Erdogan welcomed the response from Hamas to Trump's peace plan, indicating Hamas's readiness for peace and the potential for a lasting resolution in the region. He emphasized that if all parties involved act responsibly, it could lead to an end to the bloodshed and the establishment of peace in Gaza.
Erdogan reiterated Turkiye's commitment to preventing further loss of innocent lives and to bringing hope to the children of Gaza. He stressed the need for an immediate cessation of Israeli occupation attacks and maintaining hope for peace.
