Erdogan Accuses Israel of Violating Gaza Ceasefire with Fabricated Justifications

Istanbul: The Israeli occupation violates the Gaza ceasefire with "made-up" reasons, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday. Palestinian group Hamas continues its patient approach to maintain the truce despite the provocations, Erdogan stated during the Science Dissemination Awards ceremony in Istanbul. According to Kuwait News Agency, international media organizations have failed to report on the deaths of their colleagues, with Erdogan highlighting that "over 270 journalists were killed in Gaza." Additionally, the Turkish president stressed that more than 13,500 students, 830 teachers and education staff, and 193 scientists and academics have been killed by Israeli forces. Erdogan also emphasized the severe impact on education, noting that "more than 785,000 students have been deprived of their right to education." He characterized the situation as a "deliberate, intentional, and planned policy of mass killing." Expressing Ankara's determination to address these issues, Erdogan mentioned that he raised the concerns during discussions in South Africa last week at the G20 Leaders' Summit. The ongoing conflict has resulted in nearly 70,000 people, mostly women and children, being killed and over 170,000 others injured in attacks in Gaza since October 2023.
