Cairo: Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi on Saturday emphasized the importance of leveraging recent developments in Gaza to initiate a serious political process aimed at the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. The presidential spokesperson conveyed that the president expressed these views during a telephone conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussion between the two leaders also covered the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh summit and highlighted Egypt’s extensive efforts to implement the initial phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the conflict in Gaza. President Al-Sisi reiterated Egypt’s willingness to host an international conference focused on the reconstruction of Gaza and expressed eagerness to collaborate with Malaysia on this endeavor.
