Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Dr. Bader Abdelati emphasized the necessity for the Israeli occupation to accept a proposed deal aimed at de-escalating the situation in Gaza, stopping the bloodshed among the Palestinian population, and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid to the region. According to Kuwait News Agency, this statement was made during a phone call between Minister Abdelati and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. The call, which took place last night, focused on joint efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, based on proposals put forward by the US envoy, as announced by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration in a statement on Saturday. The statement highlighted Abdelati's concern over the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, which he indicated has reached a critical point. He warned of the potential dangers and repercussions of expanding military operations in the region and the continued use of starv ation as a weapon. Abdelati also informed the US envoy about Egypt's plans to host an international conference for early recovery and reconstruction immediately following the announcement of a ceasefire. This initiative aligns with the Arab-Islamic plan adopted at the Arab Summit in Cairo last March, as noted in the statement.
