Kuwait city: Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that the first unit of the Al-Dabaa nuclear power plant would be operational in the second half of 2028, with the remaining three units expected to follow in 2029, according to a schedule that is being monitored around the clock.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in a statement following his inspection of the Al-Dabaa nuclear power plant construction site, Madbouly explained that the project comprises four nuclear reactors with a total capacity of 4,800 megawatts. Egypt's Electricity and Renewable Energy Minister, Finance Minister, and representatives from the Russian company Atomstroyexport were present.
Madbouly added that the entire project was proceeding according to the planned timeline, in all its various phases, as outlined in the latest meeting held by President Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi with Atomstroyexport, the company responsible for this project. He referred to Egypt's Vision 2030 strategy for introducing clean energy, emphasizing that part of the plan was to generate 42 percent of energy production from clean and renewable resources.
